Ontario's Fastest Growing Dog Sport

Melissa Doren & Guinness

This young fella is "Guinness" our official quiet Toller!  That's right, not only is he a jumping machine but he's also a beautiful unique Canadian breed of dog.  He's a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever!
Melissa got the jump on the competition by introducing Guinness at a young age to DockDogs, he was taking his first official leaps at 8 months of age.  Jumping straight into the Junior Division this lively little fellow is improving with leaps and bounds and has found his way into the Senior division already!

Sherri Hall & Barney
Alliston, ON

Sherri is somewhat of a 'newbie' to our sport despite having her own regulation dock and pool at home!  She's just getting into the swing of things with her crew and has been making a splash, landing herself in the PRO finals her very first time out.

Sherri is a breeder of Golden Retrievers and always has a number of worthwhile projects on the go at any one time.  For more information on Sherri and her crew, please CLICK HERE.

Erin Davidson & Karl Forbes
"Chile" & "Banjo"

Chile is a Vizsla, and a pure natural to the jumping world. Jumping off the Peterborough lift locks is a common activity for Chile, showing off to all who will watch her. DockDogs seems like an easy fit to direct some of her competitive drive, especially if her partner Banjo manages to jump further! Chile takes her jumping career seriously, I predict she’ll be a great addition to the Ontario DockDogs team; can’t wait!

Banjo, also a Vizsla, has been pushed by his partner, Chile to begin his jumping career. Not to be outdone, Banjo worked up the nerve and began jumping last summer. He usually jumps in after Chile, helping her retrieve the stick – so it will be interesting to see him fly solo at DockDogs. He’s got drive, and I expect he’ll be a contender in his first summer out.

Terri, John, Zoe & Duncan Chaston
Hamilton, ON

Terri and John are quickly become veterans of this sport.  With Zoe taking on the title of Iron Dog in just her second season the duo decided to add another chocolate to the mix.  Zoes younger brother Duncan.

When they're not hanging around the dock, Kate, Baloo and Peanut are members of the President's Choice Superdogs team, and also compete in a variety of other dog sports including agility, rally and obedience. Baloo is training hard for the 2010 season, hoping to put up some big jumps! See you on the dock!

Candace Sirianni, Todd Haughland, Willow & Sarah
Grassie, ON

Sarah is a  young Golden Retriever and the newest addition to Candace and Todd's family.  Willow, the 'diva' of the family prefers to strutt her stuff in the conformation ring,  leaving the dock diving to Sarah who is more than happy to take the plunge.

Being a relatively new team they've got nowhere to go but UP, with Big Air mastered Sarah has Speed Retrieve on the horizon (she's a Retriever so it should be no problem!).

Along with dock diving and conformation Candace and Todd also enjoy Agility with their dogs and just hanging out at the cottage.  The other two family members are not to be forgotten, Candace and Todd also have a team of Belgian horses that they are in the process of training to ride and drive!

Toni Schraa & Riley
Collingwood, ON

Toni is another one of those junior handlers walking around the DockDogs town. She is no newbie to the sport as she was lucky enough to travel with her Dad helping to set up and run DockDog events across the province learning the ins and outs of the background operations of DockDogs. Although she's been involved with DockDogs for the past two years she is a relative "newbie" on the dock. This fall Toni was lucky enough to get a dog of her own! Now with her new found Doggy she is now one of us, addicted to this sport.

Riley is a black Lab who just turned 2. She has not been in the sport long with a first jump of 6 feet. But she is a quick learner with a whopping 15 feet 6 inches in the first month of competing winning second place at the National Championships in Novice ! Keep up the good work Riley and Toni !

Kathy is a registered vet tech and helps teach our canine massage at our dry land training seminars, as well as helps organize our fun swims at Woodcock Veterinary Services.  In addition to all of this Kathy is also one of Ontario DockDogs four Certified Judges!

Jenn Boileau, Tucker & Duke

Tucker had a slow start to his DockDogs career.  After working on his ramp diving skills at our training day and first club event Tucker had yet to take the actual plunge, however Jenn persevered and after many hours on the practice dock Tucker debuted at the Dog Days of Scugog as a fully fledged DockDog!
